    To His Excellency Lieutenant Colonel Sir William Macbean George Colebroke HH Lieutenant Governor & Commander in Chief of the Province of New Brunswick Etc Etc Etc

    The Petition of Mary Rickets of Saint Andrews in the County of Charlotte

    Humbly Sheweth

    That your Petitioner is a Widow and has Three children the eldest Eleven and the youngest six years old and that she had no property or means of supporting herself or chidlren. That her late husband Michael Rickets was drowned in December 1841 was a Soldier in the late 104th Regt and received a Pension of Ten pounds per annum for wounds received in the said Regiment, Whereupon your Petitioner humbly begs that your Excellency will be graciously pleased to bring her care under your consideration and allow her a pension as granted to the Widows of Soldiers of the Revolutioanry War or in such other way as your Excellency may think proper and as in duty bound will ever pray
