      Abstract Parish of St. Andrews, Charlotte County, Farmer. Will dated 6 December 1832, proved 17 January 1835. Sons Thomas and Benjamin all personal estate. Sons Thomas, Benjamin and William (now an infant) all real estate. Wife Ann an annuity of ?50 and use of half the farm. For support of son William, ?20 yearly until age 21. Son Robert ?100. Son Gordon ?5. Daughters Mary McSTAY and Catherine AYMAR each ?5. Lydia Ann BRYANT, daughter of Jacob BRYANT, ?10 for her kindness toward me. Son Thomas JOHNSON, David W. JACK and Thomas SIME executors. Witnesses: Alfred L. STREET, James W. STREET, Elias GREENLAW. On 8 January 1835 son Gordon JOHNSON contested the will; on 13 January 1835 W. C. McSTAY, in right of his wife, contested the will, and on the same date submitted a certification, as Physician and Surgeon, that he had been the Medical Attendant on Nicholas JOHNSON and his family for the past fifteen years, and that the deceased was not in a fit state of mind to make any transaction of importance. Despite the protests, the will was proved on 17 January. Inventory, dated 23 February 1835, valued at ?1,790 by the executors, Thomas JOHNSON and David W. JACK, included Lot 43 granted in the Penobscot Association valued at ?800 and two other lots of real estate valued together at ?850.

      Thomas JOHNSTON, one of the oldest residents of Bayside (Charlotte Co.) has passed to his rest. Mr. J. was a native of Charlotte Co. and was a little short of 90 years of age. He had always been a remarkedly healthy man, but an attack of la grippe proved too much for him and he died Friday last. Rev. L.S. Johnson officiated at the funeral.
