There is a 1760 deed John Stevenson and wife Mary turning over their right to any claim on their father Nathaniel Garland's estate to their brother Nathaniel Garland. The copy of the deed was filed with the County in 1761 was signed by John Stevenson and "Mary Jonson." Did her husband die and she marry a Johnson by the time the deed wad filed? Was there an error in the filed transcription? Immediately preceeding this deed filed in the same volume was another deed relinquishing the rights to the estate of Nathaniel Garland. The grantors were Abraham Johnson m Elizabeth Garland. Was there confusion between these deeds?
