Silnce Ford d Abner Ford m Bethiah Sampson bap Marshfield 30 April 1758 d Montville 11 November 1811 (Town Records 1:196) She was a descendant of Mayflower passengers John Alden and Myles Standish.
She arried about 1784 Joseph Maccares Carr who was born at Salisbury 25 December 1757 and bapt Newbury 1 January 1758, s Maccares/Macries Carr m Elizabeth Wait. He died after 1820 when he was listed in the census at Montville, Maine. The Joseph Carr listed in the 1830 census of Montville was evidently his son.
Silence Ford's family settled in Balltown when she was a child.
A letter in the files of the Mayfloer Society Historian General indicates that Joseph moved about 1780 from Ballstown to Montville where he was among the first settlers...
The mark for Joseph Carr's sheep, "left ear loped with a swallows tail in the right" was recorded at Montville in August 1807, just afytter that of his son in law Nicholas Twitchel...
