Hon. Judge Charles FISHER was born at Fredericton in the month of September, 1808 and was oldest of five brothers, of whom two now survive. His brother Henry FISHER died some twenty years ago. Another brother, Edward FISHER, who studied law, died at an early age. Peter FISHER, for so many years Mayor of Woodstock, studied law with his brother Charles and attended to business at the time the latter was deeply engaged in politics. The youngest brother, William FISHER is Indian Commissioner for the Province of New Brunswick. Charles Fisher, after passing with credit through all the grades of the collegiate school, entered King's College where he graduated in 1829. He was then, we believe, the first graduate of the Institution. He studied law in the office of the late Judge G.D. STREET who was at that time Advocate General, and was admitted an attorney of the Supreme Court in Hilary Term, 1831. He became a barrister in Michaelmas Term 1833 having in the meantime spent a year in England at one of the Inns of Court. He commenced the practice of his profession in Fredericton. ... About the year 1835 he married a daughter of David HATFIELD of (St. John) city. His widow and three daughters survive him. (see original for extensive account of his political career)
