There were no Loyalist Palmers who remained in Charlotte County. The Nathaniel Palmer counted among the Penobscot Loyalists, and the Nathaniel Palmerly/Palmerby at Beaver Harbour were probably the same man, perhaps the Nathan Palmer, son of Daniel Palmer and Elizabeth Wheeler who were in Maugerville by 1763. In any case, he disappeared from Charlotte County quite early.
The next Palmers to show up in Charlotte County all were apparently born in New Brunswick, but came from elsewhere. Some say they were (mostly all) related, children of John Palmer of Sheffield, but I have found no evidence to support this. Francis and Thomas lived at Deer Isle. Henry married in St Andrews but resided at Sheffield. James lived at St George. Catherine m Jonathan Godfrey and lived at St Andrews.
William Palmer also lived at St Andrews. There is no evidence of him in Charlotte County before his marriage in 1830. He may have been of this group of Palmers, the evidence for whom points to Sheffield, albeit only faintly.

I John Jones Deputy Surveyor drew a town lot for Nathaniel Palmer in the Town of St Andrews and neither he nor any body under him came to take possession of it for more than Six months afterwards, and as William Gallop Esqr had not lot it was given to him. Some time afterwards sd Nathaniel Palmer came from New England to me, to me, & asked me if he had a town lot I went with him to another lot and told him if he settled here He might have it. I asked him if he intended to settled here, he told me that he had not Determined yet he would give me an answer in a short time, but he believed he should go to some other part of the Province, in the mean time somebody inform'd him that he had drawn a good town Lot. he came to me and demanded it and told me he would have it. I told him it was too late. he said he has sold half of it to Mr Swain, and Mr Swain would try and get it. I told him he ought not to have it as he had not been here. I asked him what Mr Swain gave him for it, he told me he had given a certain Sum & would take his chance in getting of it. I told him he was wrong.

On 7 December 1780, Thomas Johnston and his neighbors sent a load of wood to Boston by ship, and ordered supplies for their families. The vessel was seized and plundered by a pirate gang led by one Nathaniel Palmer. Johnston was outraged because Palmer had been a student of his when he taught evening school, and he had gone out of his way to help Palmer. Palmer was arrested, but escaped. When he later returned to Bristol, he was treated with dislike by the townspeople.
