To His Excellency Major General Sir Howard Douglas Baronet, Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Province of New-Brunswick, etc, etc, etc,
The Petition of John C Greenlaw a British Subject, born in New Brunswick, has resided always in this Province, aged thirty years, is married, and has Three Children;
Humbly Sheweth
That your Petitioner never received any Land from the Crown, and wishes to obtain an allotment of Crown Land, situated on Reserve Number Two in the county of Charlotte commencing at the Southerly Line of a Lot applied for by his Father Ebenezer Greenlaw, thence extending Southerly 25 chains thence Easterly a Sufficient distance to contain 200 Acres as will appear by a reference to the plan of the late Survey of the Reserve in Charlotte.
And your petitioner further respectfully prays that he may be included in the Same Grant with George Hitchings, Leonard Bartlett, Leonard C Bartlett, William Vance, and Ebenezer Greenlaw whose Lands now applied for be near his.
That it is his intention forthwith to cultivate and improve the same and to comply in all respects with the Royal Instructions, being of ability so to do, That he has not directly or indirectly bargained, or agreed for the Sale or Transfer of the same to any person whatever. And as in duty bound, your Petitioner will ever pray.
