In 1851 Mary Hall Stinson and her family lived with James Cord and his family in St Andrews. Cord was a blacksmith. James and his brother Francis married sisters by the name of Abernathy. The Cords arrived in New Brunswick around 1819 and the Abernathys about the same time. The Abernathys are said to have been from Down, Ireland.

The indexes to RS86 Charlotte County Registry over the periods 1784-1838 and 1838-1854 do not contain a grantor or a grantee name of Henry Hall. As grantor, he would have sold property; as grantee, he would have purchased property. Henry Hall received a small St George town lot #11 in 1784 from the Province ie, a land grant. In 1821, he signed a land petition with others regarding some land at St Andrews to be set aside for the Presbyterian Church. I copied this document for you...it has his signature. I do not see any other buy or sell land transaction for him in Charlotte County records. It's possible that Henry bought land at St Andrews by private sale ie, by a handshake agreement or, by a piece of paper long lost and, the sale was not registered with the County. I have seen evidence of this before as in a much later land sale by an individual who inherited land from a father or grandfather many years back and the property was not registered until it was sold. Also, Charlotte County Registry is known, more than any other County, to have infrequent record blanks due to poor record keeping and storage by County Clerks.
