We now have information on the photograph in last week's "Flashback," showing a family, complete with guns and hunting dog. It was taken at the famiyl's home on High Street in Vanceboro about 1896. The older woman Adra Anna Johnson (second from left), and her husband (second from right) had a few years before this moved from Loon Bay, Me. In Loon Baythey had run an inn for those travelling between St Stephen and Vanceboro. People would cross the river here and stay overnight enroute. In the family photo, from left, Blanche Ethel Johnson, Mother Adra Anna Rideout Johnson, Allen Robinson Johnson, Father James Johnson and Lowell Albert Johnson. Sitting, left to right: George Johnson and Judson (Jed) Augustus Johnson. Blanche Ethel was the grandmother of Jackie Scott of St Croix, NB, was born at Loon Bay, lived most of her life in Vanceboro, and died in Jan. 1976 in a Houlton hospital. Thanks to Jackie Scott for clearing up this small mystery.
