Gordon-Herring
Daisy Frances Herring, daughter of Mrs Frank Herring of this city, formerly of Newport, was married to Edward J Gordon, son of Mrs Edward J Gordon, also of this city, by the Rev William I Ferry, pastor at St Sebastian's Church, Cole Avenue, yesterday morning.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother in law, Edward N Ellis of Newport.
Mrs John Avizinis, sister of the groom, was matron on honor, and John V Gordon, brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were Dr Eugene A Humbert of Scarsdale, NY, brother in law of the bride, and Edward N Ellis.
The bride wore Chantilly lace and nylon net over white satin and carried a satin-covered prayer book with gardenias and stephanotis. The matron of honor wore Nile green taffeta and carried yellow roses.
After a 10 day wedding trip, the couple will reside in Providence.
