St Croix Courier, Thursday, October 29, 1925, Vol. 62, #6, p. 6 Johnson: At Rollingdam, October 21, David Johnson, age 83 years. After a lingering painful illness, David Johnson of Rollingdam passed away early Wednesday morning, October 21 in the 84th year of his age. He was a man of sterling qualities, widely known and highly respected. He was a member of the school board, secretary and treasurer for a period of years. He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church at Rollingdam. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Blanchard and a large procession followed the remains to that last resting place. He leaves to mourn his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Eagan of Milltown, and Mrs. George Chase of St. Andrews, two sons in the States Joseph and Hermanm and three at home Albert, Beriah, and Oscar and also two sisters. Mrs. Harriet Joyse and Mrs Mary Bean, and one brother James Johnson of Vanceboro.   Will	I David Johnston of Rollingdam in the Parish of Dumbarton, Retired Farmer, do make and publish this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. I appoint my two sons Oscar Johnston and Beriah Johnston, Executors of this Will and I direct them to provide out of my personal estate for my Testamentary expenses and for the settlement of my just debts, if any outstanding at the time of my decease. I give and devise to my said son Oscar Johnston my lotof land containing about twenty five acres, situate on the south side of the Meadow road in the Parish of Dumbarton, bought by me from Mitchell, and adjoining land now owned by my said son Oscar Johnston. All the rest of the real estate of which I shall die seized, possessed of, or entitled to, wherever the same may be situate, I give and devise equally to my five sons, Albert, Joseph, Herman, Oscar, and Beriah, and to my two daughters, Ada Chase, wife of George E Chase of St Andrews, and Lucy Eagan, wife of Frank Eagan of Milltown, share and share alike, as tenants in common. I give and bequeath all of the distributable surplus of my personal property as follows:- To Willard Johnston who has been a member of my family all his life, and with whom my wife and I now reside at Rollingdam, I give his promisory note for One hundred ($100.00) Dollars which I now hold, with all such interest as may have accrued and be payable thereon, and on case he shall have paid off the said note before my decease, I give him the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollards to be paid in cash by my Executors. This payment is to take priority over my other legatees herein named. All the rest, residue, and remainder of my personal estate, including moneys on hand in Bank or otherwise, held or owned by me and all my personal property, I give and bequeath to my five sons hereinbefore named and to my said two daughters, equally, share and share alike. Both in respect of my real estate hereby devised and my personal property bequeather by this Will, I direct that in the event of any of my name children predeceasing me, his or her share shall go tohis or her lawful issue, if any, otherwise to and amongst the others of my said sonsand daughters surviving me. I am not making provision for my wife Isabelle Johnston, by terms of this Will, for the reason that I believe she is amply and comfortably provided for, being intitled to liek maintenance and support on our homestead property at Rollingdam, which has been conveyed to Willard Johnston hereinbefore named, with whom we now reside, also knowing that she has and holds in her own right certain moneys sufficient to provide for all her reasonable wants and requirements and further that she will be entitled to claim and have dower right in such real estate as I may leave. In witness whereof I have hereuto set my hand this 13th day of July AD 1921 at St Andrews in the said County Charlotte.
